Welcome to the Safe and Smart Interaction in Construction Lab, led by Dr. Zixian (ZZ) Zhu at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. 

At SSICL, we adopt an interdisciplinary approach to explore how humans and technology interact in construction sites, infrastructure, and built environments. Our research advances occupational safety and well-being, promotes safe and efficient human-robot collaboration, and develops mixed-reality applications for education and training. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, we design strategies that support workforce needs and foster safety, innovation, and human-centered practices across construction and the built environment.
