The Supreme Student Government helps to develop leadership which is the reason why more people should be actively involved in the life of their educational institution. In such way, students will take active participation in the process of organizing and carrying out various activities and projects. SSG is a group of students that are charged with managing a wide rang of events, activities, programs, policies, and initiatives around school. Some members are elected by the student body, and others may be appointed by the elected officials to help with specific tasks or areas of interest.
Academic year 2019-2020 has begun the change in the electoral process of the SSG (Supreme Student Government) of the Holy Cross of Agdao. This move of the SSG has empowered of the students to lead a life of service for the studentry.
All of us, students, have been given the chance to run for a position and to lead our classmates in the projects and activities that the SSG may endeavor. It wasn't like this in the years prior 2019. Only the mayors and vice-mayors of each class were qualified to apply for election. It contained the dynamics of the studentry.
All the students had experienced being involved with a lot of school activities but we all know that it isn’t only managed by the faculty and staff, but as well as the Student Governing Body, but Holy Cross of Agdao hadn’t had one for almost a decade already. Luckily, Sr. Maria Nelsa P. Guevarra, TDM, the school Directress/Principal brought back the most important student organization and opened a pathway for the students to be more engaging and involved towards their non-academic and academic performances.
School Year 2019-2020, the most awaited comeback of the Holy Cross of Agdao Student Government, and the competitive battle between partylists had started. There were 2 party lists for the Junior High School and the Senior Highschool. ONWARD and KAPPA Party List for the Junior High School, and ____ and ____. Both sides showed us that they’ve all got the skills and the wits to lead the school, unluckily for us, only one person shall win per position.
Although some of them lost, they still showed us that even though they couldn’t be part of the organization, they would still be able to lead their fellow Holy Crossians. The winners also had proved to us that they wouldn’t disappoint the school and has led us to many victories with our chosen activities to participate, They had led the students to greatness, and has shown us that even those who doubt themselves could still shine and inspire their fellow students.
With the start of the establishment of the organization, the school has flourished, and many victories and proud deeds had followed. The student governing body has made a legacy and still continues to do so even up to this day.
