Ph.D. Position Openings in Mechanical Engineering at the Systems Realization Laboratory (SRL@FIT), Florida Institute of Technology
The Systems Realization Laboratory (SRL@FIT) at the Florida Institute of Technology has two Ph.D. position openings in Mechanical Engineering. We are seeking highly self-motivated and talented students to join our academic family.
Start Dates: One position will begin as early as Spring 2026 (January), and the other will commence by Fall 2026 (August).
Support: Selected candidates will receive Graduate Research Assistantships and full tuition support through the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering at FIT.

We welcome candidates from multidisciplinary backgrounds, especially in:
Engineering design
Materials and manufacturing process design
Machine learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Systems design (or related areas)
Candidates with strong expertise in computational modeling, engineering design, multidisciplinary optimization, and machine learning are especially encouraged to apply.
Requirements
MS (or equivalent) degree is required.
TOEFL or IELTS is mandatory for the application (GRE scores optional).
