Ph.D. Position Openings in Mechanical Engineering at the Systems Realization Laboratory (SRL@FIT), Florida Institute of Technology

The Systems Realization Laboratory (SRL@FIT) at the Florida Institute of Technology has two Ph.D. position openings in Mechanical Engineering. We are seeking highly self-motivated and talented students to join our academic family.

• Start Dates: One position will begin as early as Spring 2026 (January), and the other will commence by Fall 2026 (August).

• Support: Selected candidates will receive Graduate Research Assistantships and full tuition support through the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering at FIT.

We welcome candidates from multidisciplinary backgrounds, especially in:

• Engineering design

• Materials and manufacturing process design

• Machine learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)

• Systems design (or related areas)

Candidates with strong expertise in computational modeling, engineering design, multidisciplinary optimization, and machine learning are especially encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• MS (or equivalent) degree is required.

• TOEFL or IELTS is mandatory for the application (GRE scores optional).
