My research interests are in air quality, sustainability of food systems, and indoor air quality. I received a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of Sotiria-Koloutsou Vakakis and Mark J. Rood. I then worked with Jason Hill for my postdoctoral research at the University of Minnesota.
I grew up in Mumbai, India where the degrading air quality reinforced my interest in pursuing a career in environmental engineering. I am passionate about teaching and academic outreach. Our forays into exploring the environmental and health impacts of foods have motivated my family to pursue a plant-based lifestyle. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring the world through plant based cooking, and reading.
