Coach K. is a long-time sprinter who began running when she was only six years old for the L.A. Jets Track Club. She ran first for Palmdale High School and then for St. Bernard's High School. Her high school 4x100 meter relay team still holds the California state record of 44.7 seconds. While still in high school, she was a member of the Junior Olympic Team. She won the 400m the 1995 USA Track & Field Junior championships with a time of 53.96, going on to place third in the 1995 Pan American Junior Championships in Santiago, Chile. She also won silver in the 4x400m relay at the 1995 Pan American Junior Championships. After high school, she went on to run at two Division One colleges. Coach K. started coaching at Scripps Ranch in 2017, and she became the head coach in 2019. When she is not coaching track, Coach K. is either teaching or coaching soccer.
Born and raised in Chula Vista, California, Coach Warren competed on the cross country and track team at Hilltop High School. He continued his running career at Southwestern College and later on at Humboldt State.
From 1994 through 2004, he competed in almost one hundred road races, finishing first in his age group division several times. During that period, Coach Warren became a personal coach to several high school runners. He began coaching at Scripps Ranch High School in 2011, starting as an assistant to former college coach John Clemmens and then becoming the head coach at Scripps in 2012.
Coach Warren moved to Scripps Ranch in 1998 with his sons, Jake (Class of '10) and Brady (Class of '15).
Coach Holly began running in 4th grade as part of the Salem Track Club in Oregon, doing jumps, hurdles, and the 400/800m, qualifying for the TAC Youth Nationals (now USAT&F) in the long jump and 4x400m relay. She began pole vaulting her junior year in high school and broke the Oregon state record, which helped her earn a track scholarship to the University of Oregon. During college, she pole vaulted every year in the PAC 10 Championships. She also qualified for the U.S. and Canadian nationals, and she just missed qualifying for the 2000 Canadian Olympic Team. She has coached pole vault for several high schools, a club, and Point Loma Nazarene University. Several of her athletes have broken their school records, qualified for Junior Olympic Nationals, and vaulted in college.
Coach D. graduated from the San Diego School Of Creative And Performing Arts. She played pop warner football for the Kearny bulldogs at the age of 11. She began running when she was 4 years old for the San Diego Panthers and Alexander Express youth track club. When she was in high school, she continued track and began basketball. She was a D1 varsity player all four years at Morse high school from 2008-2011, placing 3rd overall at CIF qualifying for the STATE championships her freshman year. She ran all sprint events, but her favorite was the 200m, 400m and 4x100m relay. She Received the frosoph MVP award and became Eastern League Champion in every event. After high school, she decided to pursue her career in the music industry while coaching youth track and field for Mercury San Diego. She said, “Coaching gives me a sense of my childhood, you know, when I had that hunger to eat up everything I was up against." In 2021, she continued her college education at the Culinary Arts Academy of Las Vegas, graduating as the Valedictorian. Now her goal is to become a restaurant owner while advocating for the misguided/misunderstood youth. When she’s not coaching or cooking, she is spending time with family.
Tyler Irwin grew up in Philadelphia, PA and attended Neshaminy High School. There, he threw shot and discus for four years and ended up learning to coach the throws there. He is a second year coach, and through football, wresting, and track, he has coached at Del Norte, Hoover, El Capitan, and Scripps Ranch. From his first few weeks at SRHS, he has definitely seen the athletes as hard workers, especially his group, who has taken to his coaching well. He hopes for a great season. You will see and definitely hear him at all the meets coaching and cheering the athletes on.
Assistant Coach, Eileen Quinn, is an avid runner and has competed in 10K road races. Coach Eileen is passionate about athlete nutrition, injury prevention and recovery, and the development of young athletic talent.
