The Mount Lebanon Methodist Episcopal Church was built in 1844. An addition including an octagonal steeple (now gone) was completed in 1878.

In 1928, the recently established Mt. Lebanon Grange #212 began to meet in the church, which at that time was no longer having regular services. It became the Mt. Lebanon Grange Hall for the next eighty-eight years. The simple stone building has served the residents of Lebanon Township for more than one hundred seventy-five years. Pictured below is the church in 2022 just after Squiers Point purchased it from the Grange.

Early congregants included nationally known organ manufacturer Daniel Beatty and infamous murderer Reverend Jacob Harden. An historic graveyard, where Beatty's parents are buried, surrounds the church.

THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION PLAN FOR THE MT LEBANON CHURCH

In 2021 The Squiers Point Historians, working in partnership with the remaining members of the Mt. Lebanon Grange, commissioned an Historic Preservation Plan (HPP). A multidisciplinary team, led by local historian & architect John Bolt, created a road map for revitalizing the property for future community use while preserving its meaningful history.
