When you become a member of the Squiers Point Historians, you are helping to preserve and maintain the circa 1844 Mt Lebanon church, graveyard and history that is uniquely Lebanon Township's.
Visit our table at Bands and Brews at Memorial Park on Saturday September 19th to learn more about our accomplishments and goals.

These keepsakes feature original watercolor paintings of historic Lebanon Township landmarks by local artist William Martin. They include the old Woodglen School, Lebanon Township Museum and Mt. Lebanon Church and will be available while supplies last.
Professional storyteller and self-professed local history nerd Gina Sampaio returns to Mt. Lebanon to tell forgotten tales of some of Anthony village’s former residents in her popular tours of “local lore without the gore.”
Was it scandalous that George was buried between his wife and his consort? Did William shack up with the help once his wife went insane? (Or maybe that’s why his wife went insane?) Is there really such a thing as a disappearing/reappearing headstone?
Tours will be held on one night only! Friday, October 30th at 7 & 8:30 pm
Tickets are $30.00 each. All proceeds support the preservation of the Mt Lebanon Church and the mission of the Squiers Point Historians of Lebanon Township.
Tickets are only available to Members of Squires Point until September 15th!
ABOUT SQUIERS POINT
ABOUT SQUIERS POINT
Squiers Point was originally incorporated in 1979 by a group of residents who were instrumental in preserving the abandoned one-room schoolhouse at New Hampton and transforming it into the Lebanon Township Museum. Squiers Point takes its name from the iron furnace that was established by the sons of Governor Reading in the mid-1700s along the Musconetcong River in the northwest part of Lebanon Township.
In 2018, Squiers Point funded an addition to the Lebanon Township Museum that brought indoor plumbing, new heating and air conditioning to the building. In 2020, Squiers Point made possible the restoration of an historic horse-drawn sled donated by the Polt family. Additionally, they provided the funds for the Carriage Shed Museum Annex to house the restored sled and expand the museum's exhibit space.
In 2022, Squiers Point purchased the Mt. Lebanon Church with the intention of restoring the circa 1844 stone building and preserving the graveyard. An Historic Preservation Plan commissioned in 2021 serves as a road map for revitalizing the property for future use by the community while preserving its meaningful history.

Squiers Point Historians is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation whose mission is to preserve, maintain and improve historical structures and artifacts in Lebanon Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Our members strive to share our knowledge with the public while instilling a sense of community pride.
