PIWAKAWAKA AND RURU

Piwakawaka and Ruru - these names were names that the children decided on together in 2019.

The juniors chose Piwakawaka (fantail) because the bird is small and curious.

The seniors chose Ruru (owl) because they are wise and can fly over the top, see all and offer support.

The students completed art works on our doors that represented the links that these names made to our school and our process and outcome was supported by Vicky Peacock. The doors remain in storage and will be placed in a fitting space in our kura in time.
