Through HBL, students learn to plan their work, manage distractions, seek help appropriately, and review their understanding.
HBL follows a simple and clear structure to help Springfielders stay focused and productive.
This check-in ensures attendance is taken and students are ready to begin the day responsibly.
Students are encouraged to use the Plan → Do → Review approach:
Plan what needs to be completed
Do the tasks with focus and effort
Review their work before submission
This block builds perseverance, independence, and accountability.
Reflection helps students consolidate learning and identify areas for improvement.
For each HBL, students will have up to 4 different subjects assigned.
The assignment (inclusive of post-lesson homework) is designed to take up to 1 hour per subject.
Students who do not complete and submit their HBL assignments punctually may be required to report to school for subsequent HBL days.
