The Spring Mill rests quietly along Arkansas Highway 69, just six miles northwest of Batesville, surrounded by water, stone, and generations of history. Built in the years following the Civil War, this wood frame mill with its graceful gambrel roof and weathered clapboard siding has stood watch over its mill pond for more than a century and a half.
The stone dam, first constructed in 1867, still stretches across the water, steady and enduring. By 1869, the mill itself was completed, becoming a place where families gathered, worked side by side, and built their lives around the rhythm of the flowing stream. Today, it remains the only known operable grist mill from this period in the state of Arkansas, a rare and living piece of the past. What once brought communities together now creates the perfect setting for love. The same walls that have stood through time, change, and perseverance now hold space for vows, laughter, and the beginning of a new chapter. Every stone, beam, and ripple of water tells a story of commitment and care, making it a place where love feels rooted and lasting.
At The Spring Mill, history is not just remembered, it is felt. It becomes part of your wedding day, woven into moments that will be cherished for a lifetime. It is a place where timeless beauty meets heartfelt promises, and where a love story can begin on a foundation built to endure forever.
