The following rules are in place for the Camp Challenge facility and must be followed at all times. Facility rules are in place to ensure the health and safety of all guests and protect and preserve the Camp facility.
Excessive violation of posted rules and/or policies and procedures of ESF, as determined by ESF, may result in the Group Member/Group being asked to leave the Camp property. If violation of any rules is discovered at any point during the Group’s stay, ESF reserves the right to enact the additional fees.
No Smoking – Seriously, we’ll know if try you to sneak it.
No Pets or Animals – Some of our campers are highly allergic to animals and so it’s important that we keep animals out of the cabins – of course service animals are always welcome.
No driving on property – We have really old pipes and you really want water.
Park in designated areas only – We love you but you are not camp staff – don’t park there. The designated staff parking is for the assistant camp director because those spots are in front of her home.
All trash must be placed in the dumpster/ dumpster area – The wildlife won’t thank you but we will.
Kitchen must be left clean (dishes, grill top, trash out, mopped) – Clean like the King and Queen are coming for dinner – they probably are.
Fires are permitted only in the pavilion fireplace and Pow-Wow campfire circle – The firefighters aren’t that cute anyway.
Do not set the thermostat below 73 degrees in any cabin/building – It will freeze the unit – If the AC unit freezes you will get HOT and there’s nothing that will fix it except time – a LOT of time.
Do not touch or attempt to touch wildlife – report wildlife sightings immediately to the on-call staff member – You don’t need to call us about birds and butterflies – maybe a pterodactyl.
Do not enter off-limit areas on property (farm, target range, ropes course, private residences) – Especially the farm – the pig gets grumpy – for real though.
Keep all cabin/building doors closed – You don’t want any 4-legged friends or worse, no-legged friends in the cabin with you – this includes the back doors to the kitchen. Also, don’t open the windows in a building/cabin if the AC is on.
Do not take tables and chairs from the Dining Hall outside/other areas in camp – Do you really want to eat off something that ended up at the farm? We don’t. You may bring tables/chairs into the DH – please put them back when you’re done.
Glass containers of any kind may not be taken out of the kitchen area – We need to keep everyone safe and we don’t even trust ourselves with glass outside the kitchen. Many of our campers like to be out of their wheelchairs on the ground – especially under the basketball pavilion.
Children must be supervised at all times – This one is very serious – we keep safety a high priority – and bears make terrible babysitters anyway.
Respect staff/employees/each other – The Golden Rule applies here – the expectation is that all people on the site are treated with respect. Camp Challenge has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and disrespectful behavior – no jokes here.
Hopefully, you laughed a little while reading these rules. They really are very serious and for your safety and the well-being of camp. We appreciate you taking care of camp like we do. If you have any questions or we can help you in any way, contact the on-call staff member. Enjoy your stay!
