Learning a new language takes practice – especially speaking. To support accompanying spouses in this process, The International Spouse Program is launching Swedish Fika & Language Café. 

This a relaxed, social hour where we practise everyday Swedish while enjoying a classic Swedish fika. It’s designed as a complement to SFI – less classroom, more conversation. 

We’ll use simple conversation cards in small groups (2–3 people). No preparation is needed, and it’s completely okay to make mistakes. All levels of Swedish are welcome, from beginners to more advanced speakers. The goal is to feel more confident speaking Swedish in real-life situations.

Meet Laras and Rachna from Jobbsprånget, Sweden’s largest internship programme for international talent. As accompanying spouses themselves, Laras and Rachna understand first-hand both the opportunities and challenges of building a career in a new country.

They will introduce you to Jobbsprånget and explain how the programme can help boost your chances of entering the Swedish job market. Established in 2016, Jobbsprånget is a well-proven programme supported by hundreds of participating employers, and more than 7,000 international talents have taken part so far, with the majority moving on to employment after their internship.

Laras and Rachna will also share practical tips on how to prepare for the next application period, strengthen your profile, and increase your chances of securing an internship through Jobbsprånget.
