Throwing
Right and left foot parallel (straight) and aligned. Shoulder length apart
Shoulder facing toward target
Arm with ball making a 90° angle aligned with rest of body.
Other arm pointing toward target
Twist upper body, arm with ball coming around
Release when arm is straight
[place another spot marker in front of the other two] then step in to 3rd marker
Catching
Feet spread apart. Knees bent slightly
Glove hand: Elbow down and a little away from the body. Arm up in the air. Glove ‘in and out’- towards and facing away from body
Free hand: Up and ready
When ball comes: Catch with glove. Use free hand to hold ball in
Fielding
Feet spread apart. Knees bent. Get low to the ground. Try to not bend upper body so much. (Get rear low to ground)
Glove really low to the ground. Free hand on top of mitt
When ball comes: field ball with glove and use free hand to keep ball in
Batting
Starting position:
Feet spread apart, parallel, and aligned.
Knees bent.
Back elbow back and up.
Front elbow pulled toward around middle of body.
Weight of body leaning on back foot.
When pitch comes:
Step in with front foot and drop the back elbow
Rotate the hips and rear foot.
Swing level.
Follow through to front shoulder
EYE ON BALL THE WHOLE TIME!!!
