The 2025 Beijing Taco Fest took place on Labor Day weekend, the May 3 to 4, at the National Tennis Center (NTC) from 11:00 to 20:00. On arrival to the event, attendees enjoyed a colorful Mexican carnival, with a picnic area and the option to bring tents, stools, and mats. There were games, such as tennis challenges and basketball shooting machines, for some fun and exercise. Pets were welcome if owners wanted to bring them, and professional photographers were present to capture the moments. I liked the organizers' planning for their ticket sales strategy. Tickets could be purchased in advance by scanning a QR code or at the entrance. The way they managed it was professional and had no issues of delay. Entertaining kid-friendly activities were set up as a Kids Corner, and children under 1. 4 meters enter for free. They also provided a guide for visitors, pinpointing where all vendors were located on the premises. New taco vendors also joined the event for the first time, and made a remarkable appearance. Some vendors were crowded with customers, which made me think their products were popular amongst the customers. One particular factor that I have picked up is that the vendors who set up their station the earliest and manage their preparation deliver excellent service, and some not that much, with long delays to orders and customers getting impatient. While observing certain vendors, I noticed that some were sort staffed that one or two individuals had to do more tasks, which caused issues. On the other hand, those who had enough staff worked well together, knowing their task at hand, taking orders easily, and having satisfied customers.
