Spool: Filament & Cost Tracker is provided by Aadil Reyaz Wani. This policy explains how Spool handles information when you use the app, optional account features and cloud synchronization. Features can vary by app version and platform. A feature described here applies only when it is available and you use it.

You can use Spool without creating an account. Inventory is stored on your device so you can view and change it offline. Guest inventory is not uploaded to Spool's cloud inventory service unless you sign in and explicitly import it into your account. Your device's own backup settings may separately back up app data, as described below.
Signing in is optional. In versions that support it, Google sign-in creates or accesses a Spool account through Supabase Authentication. Spool receives your email address, provider account identifier and available name. Google may also include standard profile metadata, such as an avatar URL, in its authentication response. Spool does not display or fetch profile photos. We do not receive your Google password or request access to your Gmail messages, contacts or Google Drive files.
Supabase assigns a permanent account identifier used to associate your inventory with your account. Spool stores authentication session information to keep you signed in. You can optionally edit your display name. A display-name change is stored in your account and does not change your Google account or email address. No phone number or additional profile form is required.
When you use account inventory, Spool sends inventory and print history to Supabase so it can be restored and kept consistent across devices signed into the same account. This includes spool identifiers, brand, material, color, weights, printing temperatures, notes, prices, drying and weighing details, print titles, material usage, print costs, failure status and relevant dates. It also includes account ownership identifiers, record revisions and deletion or synchronization records needed to process changes safely.
Spool saves changes locally first. Pending account changes can upload automatically when connectivity and authentication permit, including while the app is in the background, subject to operating-system limits. Cloud changes can download to the local account inventory. Synchronization may be delayed while offline or when background work is restricted. Changing your display name requires a connection.
Guest inventory and each account's local inventory are kept in separate scopes. Importing guest inventory into an account requires your explicit action. Signing out hides the account inventory and stops its synchronization on that device; it does not delete the account, cloud inventory or retained local account data.
Cloud and sign-in requests necessarily disclose connection information, including an IP address, to the services receiving them. Google and Supabase may process authentication events, IP-derived approximate location, network or browser identifiers, SDK or browser information, request timestamps, response status and timing, and other technical logs. We and our service providers use these records to operate cloud and sign-in services, monitor reliability, diagnose errors and prevent abuse. They are not used to target advertising. Spool does not request GPS location access and does not currently integrate advertising, behavioral analytics or an automatic crash-reporting SDK.
Low-stock notifications are generated on your device from inventory and thresholds. Notification permission is optional. Notification text may be visible on your device or lock screen according to your system settings. Spool does not use a remote push-notification service for these alerts.
If you contact support, we receive your email address and the information or attachments you choose to send. Avoid including passwords, authentication codes or sensitive information in inventory notes or support messages.
Information is used to provide inventory tracking, calculations, authentication, cloud synchronization, recovery, security and support. We do not sell your personal information or use your inventory or account information for targeted advertising.
Google provides Google sign-in and Android platform services. Supabase provides account authentication and cloud database infrastructure. These providers process the information needed to deliver and secure those services. Support communications are processed through our email service. Local inventory, settings, pending changes and recovery data remain in app storage until removed through available app or device controls. Android system backups or device transfers may include app data according to your device settings and platform rules. These backups are separate from Spool cloud synchronization. Clearing app storage or uninstalling can remove local data and unsynchronized changes; system backups may remain separately.
Cloud account information and inventory are retained to provide account and sync services until deleted. Deleting a spool or print is a synchronized logical deletion, not immediate permanent erasure. Deleted records, retained snapshots and synchronization receipts can remain to support recovery, conflict handling, duplicate prevention and deletion propagation. There is currently no automatic expiry or purge of all such retained records.
Recovery can also contain device-local saved copies of deleted or conflicting inventory. Choosing 'Remove from this device' removes that selected copy from the device's Recovery interface. It does not delete cloud records, copies on other devices, operating-system backups or every synchronization record. Signing out or uninstalling does not delete cloud data.
To request deletion of your Spool account and associated cloud inventory, or to ask about access or correction, email spool.help@gmail.com with the subject 'Spool account deletion' from the email associated with your account. We may ask for information needed to verify ownership. Do not send your password or authentication tokens. We will explain any additional steps and any information that must be retained for legal or security reasons. In app versions that include account deletion, open Settings, then Account, and choose Delete account. This permanently removes the Spool account and its cloud inventory, and removes that account’s local inventory, Recovery copies and pending changes from the device performing deletion. Older app versions may not include this option. You can request deletion without reinstalling the app at https://sites.google.com/view/spool-privacy/account-deletion or through the email address above. Local copies and system backups may require separate removal on your devices or through your backup provider.
Spool uses HTTPS for cloud communication and account-based access controls for inventory. Android authentication sessions are encrypted in local storage. These measures reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security. Cloud synchronization is not an end-to-end encrypted storage service.
You may continue using guest inventory without signing in, choose whether to import guest data, edit your display name, delete inventory, manage device notifications and backups, sign out, or contact support about account data. Removing Spool's access in your Google account does not by itself delete your Spool account or cloud inventory.
Spool is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through Spool, contact spool.help@gmail.com so we can investigate and address it.
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The latest version and its update date will be available on this page. Where required, material changes will also be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel.
