Split Happens is an iOS app for tracking bowling splits and playing card-based side games. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. We've tried to keep it short and plain.
When you use Split Happens, the app stores:
- Player names you type in when creating or joining a game.
- Game activity you record — splits, transactions, conversions, card draws, discards, balances, and similar gameplay data.
- An anonymous API key automatically generated for your install on first launch, used to authenticate requests to our backend.
We don't ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials.
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone, address, date of birth).
- Location data.
- Access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera (other than scanning a QR code you point it at, which never leaves your device).
- Analytics, crash reporting, advertising IDs, or third-party tracking SDKs.
- On your device — game and session metadata in the app's local storage, and your API key in the iOS Keychain.
- On our backend — game state (player names, balances, transactions, card-game state) on Amazon Web Services (DynamoDB, in the US). Your API key is sent with each request so the backend knows which install is making it.
Nobody. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for marketing. The only third party that processes it is AWS, which hosts our backend.
- Delete the app to remove all locally stored data and your Keychain-stored API key from your device.
Split Happens isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above will reflect the latest version.
