In Splatoon 2, some gear is super rare because it came from special codes that don't work anymore. You can’t buy these gear items in shops, find them on SplatNet, or even order them from friends in the Square. Most people think they’re impossible to get, but there is actually a secret way to grab them without hacking!
It all works because of how Nintendo handles DLC. While a digital game belongs to only one person, DLC (like extra gear) can be shared with everyone using the same Switch. If you put an account that owns the gear onto your console, you can use it too! Just remember that the DLC region (like North America, Europe, or Japan) has to match your game’s region.
One tricky thing is that Splatoon 2 doesn’t save your progress to the cloud. This means if you get the gear on a different Switch, it won't just show up on yours automatically. To get it onto your main console, you have to manually move your save file to the Switch that has the DLC, claim your gear items, and then move your save file back to your own Switch. (Unless you want to use the Switch that has it.)
(I'm still looking for the best ways to do this, so stay tuned for more tips. If you know any cool tricks like these, please let me know.)
