I hope the knowledge you learn through this Professional Learning Network (PLN) will transform your classroom practice and engagement. SplashLearn is an online platform that provides game-based and curriculum aligned practice and assessments.

Educational Frameworks
Theory #1: Andragogy:
Motivation: Through the participation of this PLN, teachers will discover how the SplashLearn platform will transform student engagement. Teachers will be motivated to implement SplashLearn to increase engagement and achievement.
Self-Direction: The weekly "splashes" are self-guided and can be completed at teachers' leisure.
Theory #2: Transformational Learning:
Through the participation of this PLN, teachers will discover through the implementation and reflection the impact SplashLearn can have on the learning environment.
Theory #3: Experimental Learning:
At the conclusion of each "splash", learners will be asked to reflect on weekly experiences with the platform and implementation with students.
Guideline #1: Engagement (WHY):
Through this PLN, teachers will be a participant in a community of learners that are all desiring to increase student engagement and achievement through the implementation of SplashLearn.
Guideline #2: Representation (WHAT):
Teachers will have the option to view the how-to videos that will be posted weekly or the how-to documents.
Teachers will also be able to choose if they utilize the SplashLearn platform as a whole class implementation or a gradual implementation.
SplashLearn presents concepts to students in equation form and other alternate forms such as manipulatives and graphs.
Guideline #3: Action & Expression (HOW):
Through the use of SplashLearn, students will be able to build fluencies through graduated levels of support for practice and performance.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this PLN, you will be able to complete the following:
You will be able to assign grade level practice assignments and topic specific assessments.
You will be able to have students practice math facts on an adaptive platform that adjust for each student.
You will be able to pull and utilize reports to determine students' remediation and acceleration needs.
Purpose
The purpose of this professional learning network (PLN) is to educate learners on utilizing SplashLearn to increase student engagement and achievement in the pre-k to 5th grade mathematics and english language arts classroom. Learners will be able to assess student mastery of grade level assignments and assessments while students complete fun, interactive games to show their knowledge and understanding. Learners will be able to utilize reports provided from assignments and assessments to remediate and accelerate students. Through the use of weekly discussion boards, learners will be able to collaborate with other educators to share best practices and their experiences each week implementing SplashLearn. At the completion of this PLN, learners will possess the knowledge to implement SplashLearn in the classroom and watch as student engagement and achievement make a huge SPLASH!
