Spiral Films is a production company telling stories about women and queer people. We strive to increase representation in front of and behind the camera.

Crew Bios

Melissa Ingle (she/her/hers) is a Brooklyn-based Director, Producer and Co-Founder of Spiral Productions. Her production of "Shakespeare Translate: The Complete Works" was produced at Edinburgh Fringe in 2024. Theater credits include CJ & Cat" (The Chain Summer Festival), "Ranked Choice Dating" (?!: Festival), "Offloading" (NOW Festival), "According to This...” (DLM!P), and "Shakespeare Translate: Romeo & Juliet" (Doghouse Ensemble Theatre). "A Place For Ashes" is her debut in the film industry. Melissa graduated from Pace University’s International Performance Ensemble, studying under Gabriel Stelian-Shanks. She produces a monthly Brooklyn Born variety show Basement Bumz [@Basement_Bumz] and was a former resident director of Co-Op Theatre East.

Brianne Neira (they/she) is a queer filmmaker based in Queens, NY. Brianne earned their BFA in Media Arts Production from Emerson College in 2020 and specializes in video editing and directing. Brianne works as a Digitizer at ABC News and takes on narrative freelance projects. Editing credits include The Morning After (2024) and Rotten Meat (2022). Brianne is passionate about increasing the representation of women and queer people in the industry, something that was important to them while creating this movie and forming Spiral Films. Ian White (they/them) is an actor, musician, and writer based in Queens, NY. They graduated from Emerson College (2020) with a degree in Theater and Performance. Ian currently plays Jack in the play “Freezing Antarctica” in New Jersey. In addition to acting, Ian is the screenwriter and composer for Spiral Films. They have spent the past year perfecting the screenplay for their next short film, “Fantasy.” Ian also enjoys working as a Dungeon Master for DND.
