14 month olds
Give friends food they prefer -80% of the time

Give friends food they prefer -10% of the time
Give what friends like to eat -90% of the time
Answer: Joseph can conclude that children stop being egocentric at 18 months. The table shows 18 months old can give what their friends like to eat 90% of the time, showing they know how other people think.
1 mark for the independent variable (thing manipulated). 1 mark for dependent variable (thing measured). 1 mark for relationship between them. Directional - state the effect. Non-directional - there is a relationship but no clear effect. Null - there is no relationship.
Question: Joseph studied egocentrism in different age groups to see if they chould give food that their friends like instead of their own preferences. Write a non-directional hypothesis (3 marks)
Answer: Joseph can hypothesise that age will affect whether a child is egocentric or not.
