Abiotic and Biotic Factors

Our whole enclosure was made out of wood which formed a cabinet. We use a jar to hold the water in and put branches inside so they lasted longer. We had used a fly screen to protect the jar so the stick insects did not fall in and drown and to protect and cover the holes on both side of the enclosure we used fly screen as well this included the use of:

• Hot glue to hold the fly screen shut
• A nail gun to hold it in place

The Biotic factors that are present in our enclosure included:

• Fresh branches and leave
• Living organisms

The living organisms consist of our stick insects and the leaves. We had to make sure to change the leaves when they had died, otherwise it wouldn't be eatable for the Spiny leaf stick insects. before we put the leaves in the enclosure we had to cleanse them of any potential l parasites or predators like spiders.
