Quick Background
My name is Tyler Lloyd and I have been a Physical Education teacher at Spencer-Van Etten High School since December 2020. PE has not always been a part of my life. I first started out at SUNY Cortland as a Sports Management graduate, but upon graduating in 2009, I started a career in the insurance business. After working in that field for more than 8 years, I was lucky enough to go back to school to get my teaching certification at SUNY Cortland in Physical Education. After graduating in 2019, I substituted and worked at Chenango Forks before finally being hired mid-year at S-VE. I have been at S-VE since then and have continued to love every second. I am now the Athletic Manager as well as the high school PE teacher and life could not be sweeter.
Family
While at SUNY Cortland, I met the love of my life, Anne Murray, and started dating her in the Spring of 2010. After dating for six years we finally were married in July 2016. Not long after that the first of three beautiful girls came into my life in October 2017. I am now the father of three beautiful girls, Lucy (6), Allison (3), and Madelyn (1). I am the luckiest man in the world.
Experience
I have been lucky enough to play multiple sports while growing up. I was lucky enough to be a three sport athlete (basketball, football, baseball) at Unadilla Valley, and I continued my basketball career at Alfred State college. I stayed there for two years earning my associates degree in sports management before transferring to SUNY Cortland. I graduated from SUNY Cortland in 2009 with a degree in Sports Management. After pursuing a career in Insurance, I decided to go back to school and graduated with another bachelors, this time in Physical Education at SUNY Cortland. I am currently taking my masters at SUNY Cortland as well.
Along with playing multiple sports, I also have had the chance to coach multiple sports. I have coached football, basketball, baseball, soccer, track, and cross country. I have also had the opportunity to officiate basketball, football, and lacrosse for eight years as well.
Love for PE and Sports
For as long as I can rememeber, my life has consisted of sports, sports, and more sports. I originally wanted to be a PE teacher right out of high school, but life took me down another road. Although that road was successful, my true passion is and always will be sports. I love my job and I consider myself the luckiest person in the world to wake up each day and teach PE.
