About Spellwings Press
Spellwings Press is a selective independent publisher based in British Columbia, Canada. We publish a curated list of fiction under the Spellwings imprint and guide each accepted title through editing, design, production, and release.
We are primarily a hybrid press. That means Spellwings and the author both invest in bringing a book to market under a written contract that clearly defines scope, rights, and responsibilities. We review submissions for fit, quality, and market potential. We do not accept every manuscript, and acceptance is never automatic.
In limited cases, Spellwings may also undertake direct press-funded acquisitions for titles the press chooses to support as a strategic investment. These projects are contracted under a traditional-style agreement rather than our standard hybrid model.
Our focus is not volume. We build a small, selective list and give close attention to editorial quality, visual presentation, and long-term positioning. From manuscript to finished book, our goal is to produce work that is professionally edited, carefully packaged, and ready for the market.
Spellwings is a publisher, not a publicity service. We do not take already self-published books simply to market them, and we do not offer stand-alone promotion for books released elsewhere. We publish books we choose to stand behind.
We also maintain clear human-creation standards. Spellwings accepts human-authored manuscripts only. We do not publish AI-generated books, and our audiobooks are produced with human narrators only. We also prohibit the use of author or narrator work for AI training, voice cloning, or similar exploitative uses.
Spellwings Audio is the audiobook division of the press. Through Spellwings Audio, participating authors may pursue audiobook production support, including narrator matching, auditions, and flexible audio arrangements. We maintain a roster of human narrators at different price points and can help coordinate audiobook pathways suited to different budgets and production needs.
What Makes Spellwings Different
Selective list
We curate our catalog. Submission does not guarantee acceptance.Professional publishing process
Accepted books move through contract, editing, design, production, and publication under the Spellwings imprint.Clear publishing identity
Spellwings is a publisher. We are not a publicist, marketing-only service, or vanity-style imprint-for-hire.Human-made standards
We accept human-authored manuscripts only, and our audiobooks are human-voiced only.Multiple publishing pathways
Spellwings primarily operates through a hybrid model, while retaining the ability to directly acquire select titles in exceptional cases.Audio support
Through Spellwings Audio, participating authors may also pursue audiobook production, including narrator matching, auditions, and flexible audio deal structures.
Not a Vanity Press
Spellwings is not a vanity operation. We do not publish every book submitted, and we do not sell publication solely on the basis of payment. Our list is curated, our submissions are vetted, and our publishing relationships are contract-based.
Not a Publicist
Spellwings is also not a stand-alone publicity or promotion service. We do not take already published books simply to market them, advertise them, or revive them under our name. If you are looking only for promotion for a self-published title, Spellwings is not the right fit.
Our Mission
To publish fiction with imagination, craft, and staying power while giving accepted books a professional publishing path under a selective independent press.

We do not operate as a vanity service, and we do not use AI-generated authorship or synthetic voice performance in place of human creative work.
