Spellwings is a publishing house. We do not merely upload files or sell isolated services. We evaluate projects, contract them under our imprint, and oversee publication to professional standards.
We assess manuscripts for readiness and guide accepted titles through the editorial process appropriate to the book. Depending on the project, that may include developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, and proofreading.
We oversee the visual and technical presentation of the book, including cover direction, interior preparation, and publication-ready files.
We develop the descriptive and retail-facing materials that help a book enter the market professionally: category positioning, descriptive copy, keywords, and related front-end metadata.
We prepare accepted books for publication in the formats appropriate to the title, which may include print, ebook, and in some cases audio.
Spellwings publishes under its own imprint and ISBNs. We make books available through the channels appropriate to each release and maintain an active publishing strategy beyond simply posting a product listing online.
We support our books through launch planning, promotional assets, audience-facing content, and title positioning. Marketing support is part of publishing, but no ethical publisher can promise guaranteed sales outcomes.
We do not offer stand-alone publicity for books published elsewhere.
We do not act as a general freelance marketing agency.
We do not accept every submission.
We do not present ourselves as a vanity press.
We do not promise bestseller status, guaranteed placement, or automatic commercial success.

Spellwings may be a strong fit for authors who:
want to publish under an independent press imprint rather than self-publish alone
want a collaborative publishing process with real editorial and production standards
understand that publishing is a professional process, not an instant marketing shortcut
want a publisher that curates its list rather than accepting every manuscript
are open to a contract-based publishing relationship with clearly defined responsibilities
Spellwings is likely not the right fit for authors who:
already self-published their book and only want promotion
are looking for a publicist, ad manager, or social media service rather than a publisher
want guaranteed sales or unrealistic promises
are not open to editorial process or production standards
are seeking a vanity arrangement where payment alone guarantees acceptance
Spellwings is not a publicist.
If your book is already out and you are looking only for help selling it, that is a different service category from publishing.
Spellwings is not a vanity press.
We do not publish every book submitted, and acceptance is not purchased by default.
Spellwings is not simply “upload assistance.”
Publishing through Spellwings means being contracted to the press and released under the Spellwings imprint.
Every Spellwings title is published under a written contract that defines the arrangement clearly and in plain language.
We believe publishing agreements should be understandable, reviewable, and specific about scope, term, rights, compensation, and reversion.
For most Spellwings books, the press operates through a hybrid publishing model. These agreements set out the author’s contribution, the press’s publishing responsibilities, royalty structure, and the rights granted for publication.
In rare cases, Spellwings may directly acquire and fund a title under a traditional-style agreement. In those cases, the contract structure differs from our standard hybrid model and reflects a press-funded publication arrangement.
Rights are addressed specifically in contract rather than by vague catch-all language. The agreement identifies what the press is licensing or acquiring for publication, in which formats, for which territory, and under what conditions.
We encourage prospective authors to read our sample contract before signing anything. Transparency is part of our process.
