The SPEECH project has contributed to the realization of the thematic priority on solidarity in times of crisis, putting in synergy the first country that has joined the European Union, Italy, with the last country, Croatia.
Thanks to the realization of the event in the city of Pescara where the history of the European Union has been traced, citizens have learned about the value of the EU with respect to the theme of mutual support among peoples and solidarity among all European citizens.
The aim of the project was to strengthen the links between the cities of Pescara and Split that historically include trade and cultural agreements to create a common European and Adriatic identity, contribute to the construction of an "active European citizenship "And to the development of the democratic and civic participation of European citizens in the spirit of solidarity.
The event of 24 October 2017 in Pescara at the Europe Direct Center at the AURUM was the union of peoples of the two cities and was intended to train the participants on the themes of the functioning of the European institutions, on the thematic priorities of the Union European and on the concept of active European citizenship
The students of the two cities were involved in a photo contest "Europe in a picture", thanks to which each of them was able to represent the vision of Europe through the realization of a picture.
