Dr. Perry provides pediatric speech-language intervention to children in DC and Maryland experiencing learning or communication delays. Dr. Perry is a specialist in delivering culturally-competent education and intervention. She was trained on a cultural competency grant during her graduate studies in speech-language pathology. Additionally, she developed expertise in bilingual education and therapy, second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, and literacy during her doctoral studies. As such, she is a specialist and provides certain speech-language services.
Dr. Perry uses a developmental approach to help late talkers and their parents learn to communicate better. She specifically provides direct intervention to children, parent-training, and coaching to ensure that children increase their independence in communicating effectively. Services are typically provided in the child's natural environment, such as a day care, in the home, or via live video conferencing (i.e., tele-health). Dr. Perry is certified in the More Than Words Program by Hanen.
