1. Introduction
PlayMinima ("we", "us", or "our") built SpeakEgo as an AI-powered English learning application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "Service").
2. Information We Collect
To provide a highly personalized language learning experience, we collect the following types of information:
Account Data: If you sign in via Google or Email, we collect your email address, display name, and a unique User ID.
Microphone & Voice Data (RECORD_AUDIO): Our core feature requires microphone access. We stream your spoken audio in real-time to Google Cloud Services (Gemini AI) for Speech-to-Text processing.
Learning Profile & Preferences: We securely save the onboarding data you provide (age range, profession, interests, English level, study goals) and your daily app usage history to track your progress.
Session Data: We store logs of your conversational interactions (original and corrected text transcripts, and error types) to generate flashcards and review modules.
Device & Analytics Information: We collect data such as operating system version, device type, crash logs, and the device's Advertising ID.
3. Ephemeral Audio Processing
We prioritize your privacy during voice conversations. Your raw microphone audio recordings are strictly ephemeral. They are streamed securely to our AI partner (Google) solely to generate real-time text transcriptions. We do not save, store, sell, or permanently record your raw audio files. Once the AI processes your speech, the audio data is discarded.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We employ trusted third-party companies to facilitate our Service. These parties have access to your data only to perform specific tasks on our behalf:
Google Cloud / Vertex AI: Processes the text and audio logic powering the AI tutor.
Google Firebase: Manages secure User Authentication, Firestore databases, and Cloud Messaging (Push Notifications).
RevenueCat: securely manages in-app subscriptions and cross-platform entitlements. RevenueCat may process your device's Advertising ID to map subscription events.
Google Play & Apple App Store: Processes your financial transactions. We do not have access to your raw credit card information.
5. Advertising ID
Our app and its integrated third-party SDKs (such as Firebase and RevenueCat) use your device’s Advertising ID for internal analytics, app functionality, and purchase attribution. We do not serve third-party display advertisements in our app.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your profile and progress data as long as your account is active. You maintain total control over your data. You may permanently delete your account, session history, and learning profile at any time by opening SpeakEgo and navigating to Profile > Delete Account.
7. Children's Privacy
While our application holds a general "Everyone" content rating for its safe, educational material, the core operational services of SpeakEgo (including Account Registration, AI Voice Processing, and In-App Subscriptions) are not directed at children.
You must be at least 13 years old to use SpeakEgo. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with an email address or personal data, please contact us immediately. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take immediate steps to remove that information from our Firebase servers.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date."
