Volition is a Utah-based technology company founded in 2020 that develops self-powered AI data centers designed to operate independently of the traditional electrical grid.
According to the company's public presentations, the proposed Spanish Fork project would be located at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon on the site of the former FingerHut building next to the windmills. The facility would generate electricity on-site using Bloom Energy solid oxide fuel cells powered primarily by natural gas and would utilize a closed-loop cooling system.
