Here are five ways to detect a fake email address:
Examine the Email Address Domain
Examine the Sender's Display Name
Look for Misspelled Words and Urgent-Sounding Messages
Hover Over Any Links and Attachments
Verify the Sender's Information by Contacting Them Directly
If you receive email SPAM that ends up in your inbox don't just delete it, mark it as SPAM, with a bit of luck your email provider takes note of this and acts accordingly. Gmail will send any mail that you marked as SPAM to your junk folder automatically, most email apps will do this as well, it all helps!
