기획의도
풍납동의 골목에 위치한 갤러리 "공간지은"과 성내동 공방거리에 오픈한 쇼룸 "따따따와"는 예술가가 운영하는 아티스트 런 공간이다. 공간지은은 이진영 작가가 작업실의 일부공간을 활용하여 '골목을 지나가다 우연히 마주하는 예술'을 키워드로 지역주민 누구나 작품을 감상하고 소통할 수 있는 골목예술 공간을 마련하고, 작가와 지역을 잇는 거점공간으로 자리잡고자 운영중인 갤러리이다. 성내동 공방거리에 2024년 오픈한 따따따와(WWWY)는 작가의 영역을 넓혀 나가고자 만든 협업공간으로 다양한 방식의 형태로 예술작품의 상품화를 시도한다. 박민주 작가의 시그니처인 고릴라 작품과 실크스크린 방식을 통해 작업을 진행하는 지디큐 팩토리가 협업하여 사례들을 선보이고 있으며 향후 다양한 시도를 통해 성내동 거리의 복합예술공간으로 자리매김하고자 한다.
두 공간은 관할지역은 다르지만 지도상으로 하나의 길로 이어진 선상에 위치하고 있으며, 각각의 방식으로 지역의 문화예술을 활성화하고 작가의 활동 영역을 확장하고자하는 공통된 목표를 선두로 올해 연말 첫 스트릿투아트 프로젝트(Street to Art Project)를 실행하게 되었다. 거리와 거리, 거리와 예술, 나아가 예술과 대중을 연결한다는 의미의 "Street to Art project"라는 큰 타이틀 아래 "쯔쯔쯔와"는 따따따와에서 탄생한 정직성 작가의 아트 상품 시리즈를 위트있게 표현한 프로젝트명으로 정직성 작가의 작품 세계의 여러 요소들을 재조립, 재구성하는 과정에서 탄생한 애칭 또는 별칭이기도 하다.
공간지은과 따따따와의 첫번째 협업, 정직성_ 사라지는 연립주택 (Disappearing Semidetached Houses)& 쯔쯔쯔와는 거리문화예술의 또다른 활력이 되기를 희망한다.
Project Concept
"SPACEJIEUN," a gallery located in the alley of Pungnap-dong, and "WWWY," a showroom opened in the Crafts Street of Seongnae-dong, are artist-run spaces. SPACEJIEUN is a gallery operated by artist Jinyoung Lee, who utilizes part of her studio to create an alleyway art space under the keyword "Art you encounter by chance while passing through the alley." The gallery aims to provide a space where local residents can enjoy and engage with art, while also establishing itself as a hub connecting artists and the community. Dda Dda Dda Wa(WWWY), which opened in Seongnae-dong Crafts Street in 2024, is a collaborative space created to expand the artist’s realm and attempts to commercialize artworks in various forms. Collaborations, such as those with artist Park Min-ju’s signature gorilla works and screen printing with the GDQ Factory, are being showcased, with plans to further develop into a complex art space in Seongnae-dong.
Although the two spaces are located in different administrative regions, they are positioned along the same line on the map. They share the common goal of activating regional cultural arts and expanding the artist’s area of activity. As a result, they are launching their first Street to Art Project at the end of this year. Under the large title of the Street to Art Project, which aims to connect streets with art, streets with streets, and art with the public, "Tzz Tzz Tz Wa" is a witty project name expressing the art product series by artist Jeong Zik-seong, created at Dda Dda Dda Wa. It is also a nickname or alias that emerged from the process of reassembling and reinterpreting various elements of Jeong Zik-seong's artistic world.
The first collaboration between SPACEJIEUN and WWWY, featuring Jeong Zik-seong's Disappearing Semidetached Houses and Tzz Tzz Tz Wa, is hoped to bring new energy to street cultural arts.
