Space Club's astronomy club for children
Age groups
The club is open to children aged between 6 and 14.
AstroKids club activities
Activities will be held at least monthly, and during the summer, children may also attend events in which Space Club was invited.
Monthly activities will consist of in-person or online meetings (depending on various factors, including weather conditions) and may include but are not limited to:
- Face to face meetings and visits to thematic destinations, such as the "Admiral V. Urseanu" Astronomical Observatory, the Astronomical Institute of the Romanian Academy, the Planetarium in Prahova salt mine, other specialised institutions;
- Astronomical picnics on Space Club premises, with sessions of sungazing through solar telescopes;
- Training sessions in the use of Space Club's and own telescopes;
- Special presentations on satellites, black holes, the solar system, cosmology and more interesting astronomy topics;
- Meetings with astronomy professionals;
- Debates and open discussions on topics of interest;
- Working groups on different topics of interest: preparing children to deliver presentations (among AstroKids club or at public stands during public outreach), participating in citizen science projects, writing articles for Știință și Tehnică Junior magazine etc.
- Online presentations delivered by children, supported by facilitators;
- Astronomical observation trips near Bucharest.
Online meetings will be conducted using Google Meet platform on Sundays, starting at 11:00 am and will last 60 minutes.
Face-to-face meetings will be announced in advance and will be agreed with the parents as much as possible, depending on the astronomical calendar and weather conditions.

Please read carefully and take note of the content of the documents attached to the form: Space Club Association Statute, the Internal Rules and Regulations document and the Personal Data Protection Policy. These can be accessed by clicking on the default links in the form.
Once completed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation from us regarding the availability of the requested spot(s) in the club.
If availability is confirmed, in the same email you will receive the sponsorship contract and payment details.
Annual membership fee
The equivalent of the membership fee is an annual club sponsorship of 200 lei per child per year, which includes:
- A minimum 12 monthly meetings (online + offline);
- Optional participation in working groups for a variety of projects (with dedicated online meetings additional to the monthly meetings)
- Attendance to public events as a club member
- Conducting DYI projects at the booth or physical meetings (materials included)
- Various documents and digital library access
- On request: volunteer certificates (after at least one year of active participation in Space Club projects)
- Support from amateur and professional astronomers in discovering this fascinating field
NOT included in the annual subscription:
- Transportation/travel costs to the objectives or different locations where the activities take place,
- Entrance fees to the various objectives visited (museums, observatories, planetariums etc.),
- Participation in modular courses organized by the Space Club,
- Materials for various DYI projects during online meetings. Please note that for online projects we use common materials that are usually within everyone's reach (e.g. paper, pencils, glue, cardboard tubes from toilet paper, templates that we provide for you to print etc.).
Enrolment completion
Registration is finalized once you send the signed sponsorship contract and proof of payment (OP) by e-mail.
