ABOUT OUR PROJECT
Objectives:
To know Nicolaus Copernicus life and achievements
To know the solar system planets and the beauty of the space
To motivate students for learning English
To develop students’ creativity and communication skills
To exchange teaching methods
Activities to do:
Let’s know each other:
- students write letters about themselves.
- students make presentations about their countries and quizzes to play together.
- making logos together.
Nicolaus Copernicus’ life and achievements
- students make an ebook, interactive map and a comic about famous Polish astronomer, then they make quizes to play with their partners.
- students get to know the tools Copernicus used to discover the space, then they make the models of the tools.
The solar system
- students know the names of the solar system planets (in their mother tongues) and then in English (ebooks, comics and ICT materials are made by students and teachers).
- they make the solar system model.
A space trip
- students write a plan of their trip into space.
- students know how healthy they have to be to travel into space (healthy lifestyle
promotion).
- students make spacecraft models.
- students look for curiosities about space
- students know famous astronomers and astronauts.
Evaluation
- students complete evaluation survey and write their reflections on online board
Meanwhile students visit science centres and planetaria, where they can admire the sky.
Leaflet given to families about the project.
