SPACE CAMP 2026
Join us on 17 September 2026 at the University Of Central Punjab, Lahore, for Engineer Your Future and Space Camp 2026 at the Faculty of Engineering - University of Central Punjab, with an extended opportunity to explore engineering and space technologies through hands-on learning in collaboration with the Space Research Center and Khwarizmi Science Society (خوارزمی سائنس سوسائٹی).
Participants will explore educational satellite platforms including CanSat, CubeSat, FlatSat and FloatSat demonstrations, hands-on CanSat assembly and operations, NOAA weather satellite reception, ADS-B live aircraft tracking, radio telescope demonstrations, basics of rocketry design and OpenRocket simulation, PCB design, radar trainer demonstrations, and long-range telemetry & ground-station operations.

EPISODE 01: THE JOURNEY BEGINS.
Over the coming weeks, we will take you behind the scenes as SRC-UCP prepares CanSat systems, antennas, satellite ground stations, weather-satellite reception, ADS-B tracking, environmental monitoring, drones, and rocketry for a hands-on World Space Week experience.
This is not only an event announcement. It is the story of how the mission is being built.
We look forward to engaging with Space Education & Awareness Drive, National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies, World Space Week, Ignite - National Technology Fund, IAU Office of Astronomy for Development, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, and other organizations working to advance space education and awareness.

EPISODE 02: Building Educational Satellites
How can students learn to design, build, and operate a complete satellite mission?
At the Space Research Center, University Of Central Punjab, educational platforms such as FloatSat, CubeSat and CanSat help students explore the technologies behind modern space systems. Our CanSat platform integrates onboard electronics, sensors, embedded programming, telemetry, a dedicated ground station and communication antennas. This allows students to experience the complete mission cycle from assembly and programming to communication and live-data reception.
EPISODE 03: FLIGHT SYSTEMS
How do educational missions move from design and simulation to real-world flight testing?
At the Space Research Center, University Of Central Punjab, our flight-systems work brings together rocketry, drones, payload testing, telemetry, and recovery analysis.
Through rocket design and simulation, controlled motor testing, hexacopter-based payload flights and CanSat drop tests, students can explore how aerospace systems are prepared, tested and evaluated before a mission.
EPISODE 04: WEATHER SATELLITES
How are signals transmitted from satellites converted into useful weather images on the ground?
At the Space Research Center, University Of Central Punjab, our weather-satellite activities introduce students to satellite tracking, antenna systems, software-defined radio, signal reception, decoding and image processing.
Using NOAA APT and Meteor satellite transmissions, students can explore the complete process—from predicting a satellite pass and receiving the downlink signal to processing raw data into weather imagery.
EPISODE 05: ADS-B AIR TRAFFIC MONITORING
How can radio signals transmitted by aircraft be converted into live flight information on the ground?
At the Space Research Center, University Of Central Punjab, our ADS-B ground-station activities introduce students to aircraft surveillance, antenna systems, software-defined radio, 1090 MHz signal reception, decoding and real-time flight tracking.
Using ADS-B broadcasts transmitted by nearby aircraft, students can explore the complete process from receiving the RF signal and decoding aircraft messages to displaying aircraft identity, position, altitude, speed and flight path on a live tracking interface.
EPISODE 07: RADIO TELESCOPE
How can we observe signals from the universe using ground-based systems?
At the Space Research Center, University Of Central Punjab, we are expanding the Road to Space Camp 2026 with an exciting Radio Telescope activity in collaboration with the Khwarizmi Science Society (خوارزمی سائنس سوسائٹی).
This activity will introduce participants to radio astronomy, signal reception, the 21 cm hydrogen line, and the basic idea of how radio-frequency signals from space can be observed and studied from Earth.
EPISODE 08: RADAR SYSTEMS
How can electromagnetic waves detect, locate, and track objects without direct visual contact?
At the Space Research Center, University Of Central Punjab, we continue the Road to Space Camp 2026 with an exciting Radar Systems activity.
This activity will introduce participants to the basic principles of radar, including signal transmission, reflection from a target, echo reception, range estimation, and the role of antennas and signal processing in target detection.
