Proposed to adapt my parental psychological control scale to Mexican immigrant families via mixed methods (e.g., family observation and interviews).
Awarded funds for 5 years.
Won it as a first generation college student and graduate student from a low income family, as an immigrant woman, and as a person who survived from a nearly fatal car accident.
Career Enhancement Award ($1,200), 2021 role: PI
Postdoctoral Association at the University of Rochester
Proposed to learn multilevel modeling to analyze suicide intervention data from Latinx families and suicide data from Asian American families.
Awarded funds to attend the Stats Camp multilevel modeling workshop and purchase textbooks on multilevel modeling.
Only one award was given from all of the postdoctoral fellows in the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Rochester.

Proposed a pilot study to develop an intervention for parental psychological control in Latinx families.
Addressed a well-thought-out plan to train undergraduate students with both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Trained Latinx students, mostly first-generation college students from low income households.
