Clubs and Activities at SHS

World Language Honor Society

Advisor: Mr. Bartoletti

The societies for each language - French, Italian, Latin, and Spanish - recognize students' excellence in the language and their desire to promote the language and culture through service.

Entrance requirements:

• 90 cumulative grade over 3 years in language class

• must be a junior or senior

• 85 overall grade average

• must complete 10 hours service commitment to promoting world languages at the school and community

Spanish Club 

Mrs. Yanosy

Spanish Club enhances the total language experience through participation in enrichment activities and promotes understanding of the Hispanic culture.

French Club

Mrs. Sadji, Mr. Brulotte

French Club is a group of students who continue to learn about the French language and culture in an informal setting. Activities include games, songs, guest speakers, and celebrations of the French way of life.

Italian Club 

Mrs. Tavera Collins, Mrs. Riccio. Mrs. Cusano 

Promotes appreciation of Italian traditions and culture through student participation in school and community outreach activities. We meet monthly and students do not need to take Italian to participate! Ci vediamo!

Mandarin Club

Mrs. Zheng

Promotes appreciation of Chinese traditions and culture through student participation in school and community. Students do not need to take Mandarin to participate. 

Classics Club

Ms. Foresman, Ms. Gray 

Students will explore the ancient Greco-Roman world through various games and activities as well as by developing projects for State Latin Day. Latin Club will meet once a month.
