What Happened in 2023
CLUB LUNCH and RAFFLE
Thursday August 17th from 11:30am – 3:00pm
Over 40 years of club luncheons and counting. Each year it is something different.
This year on Thursday August 17th from 11:30am – 3:00pm we will be going to Station 8 in Marshfield center. We have reserved their private function room for our festivities. We will have a buffet style lunch with lots of choices, and we will be joined by a guest speaker from “See Plymouth” https://seeplymouth.com/ who will tell us all about the sites to see in Plymouth county.
We also will have our annual club raffle. Lots of raffle prizes from local merchants. PRICE: $30.00 per person.

Friday August 18th at 7:00pm in the SHCA clubhouse.
Singo is a fun game similar to Bingo. Steve, our DJ, will play snippets of songs. Song names will be on your Singo Card, you will check off your matches, 5 matches in a row WINS! We will play 2 sets of games with 5 winners per game. Each game is a $5.00 donation. For $5.00 you will play 2 cards, a white card and a colored card.
You can win up to 4 times on a white card, prizes include lottery tickets and gift cards. The colored card is the big winner, a colored card wins 50% of the total card sales, in CASH!!

This is a traditional Humarock Event.
Attending the Kids dance has been a Humarock tradition since the 1940's. These dances have been attended by generations of Humarockians. Your kids need to be part of the tradition.
FUN FACT: Did you know that Aerosmith's Steven Tyler brought his kids to the Small Fry Dance.
There is no fee for the dance but we do sell Water, Hoodsies and Juice at the dances.

Whist will on on Wednesday August 9 then will return to Thursday.
Whist is a logic based card game that is fast paced and fun!
We play from 7:00pm until around 9:0pm
$6.00 to play and cash prizes awarded to the winners.

The event that puts us on the map! An event all of Humarock enjoys.
YOU CAN BE IN THE PARADE: Dress up, ride a bike, skate, build a float, drive a fancy car. Be creative. Anyone can be in the parade, dress as a Horrible and join in on the fun. No registration necessary, just show up on the day of the parade, you can start at the top of the cliff or at the firehouse. See you there!
Donations are needed to help support the parade. You can add money to your membership dues, you can send money to Venmo or you can look for one of our donation cans in the center of Humarock. You can also email us at southhca@gmail.com and we will make arrangements with you.

Kids love to do Arts and Crafts! Kids from ages 5 -12 are welcome. Pricing is per child… $20.00 a day for members, $25 for non-members. Come one day or come all 4 days, drop ins are welcome.

A tradition continues. Saturday July 15th at 4:00pm on the Beach at the Alden Street entrance. A traditional New England Clam Bake (Lobster, Steamers, Potato, Clam Chowder), Non-seafood meal option will be available.
Menu Options
1) $45.00 Lobster Meal – Lobster, steamers, corn on the cob, potato, Cup of Clam Chowder all served in a beach pail.
2) $15.00 Chowder Meal – Hamburger or Hot Dog, bag of chips, soda, Clam Chowder
3) $10.00 Kids Meal – Hamburger or 2 Hot Dogs, bag of chips and soda.

Luminaria

Scituate Heritage Days (SHD) is a town annual event. As a kick off to SHD on Friday August 4th the town celebrates with a Luminaria,
On Friday night at dusk we will light our luminaries.
How to make a Luminary: use a small paper bag, place a small amount of sand in the bag then add a votive candle.
We have some supplies in the clubhouse please email Deanna at southhca@gmail.com if you would like some.
SIDEWALK ART CONTEST

a representative from the NSRWA will be coming to the clubhouse to educate us on the River that's such a huge part of our summer lives and test us with trivia! If that doesn't pique your interest, maybe free Ben & Jerry's ice cream? The Piersiak family is donating enough ice cream for 100 people, so come to the clubhouse for the scoop on the South River!
