Initial Meet and Greet
Before I can properly care for your pet in your absence, I will need to schedule and initial "Meet & Greet" in order to discuss your pet's specific needs and customized care. This free consultation is required before the first service visit. This allows me to obtain information about your pet's health, their daily routine, location of pet supplies and also assess their personality and familiarize myself with their normal surroundings. I will discuss paperwork, your home care and pet instructions. You can decide what services you require, the length of visits, and how often visits are needed. I will also pick up any keys at this time. If you would prefer to print and complete paperwork ahead of time, all forms can be found here.
While I am not able to accommodate clients with aggressive pets, I do have experience with dogs who are reactive to other dogs. Izzie has been previously attacked by another dog and she, Lillie and I have been through extensive training just to be able to take walks again where other dogs may be present. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, I would need to assess the severity of the reaction before I would know if I am able to care for your pet safely. Also, if your pet is not comfortable with me during the initial meeting, a family member or friend with whom the pet is familiar may be a better choice.
Vaccinations
All pets in my care must be current on all vaccinations.
Multiple Pets
While I do not charge for the number of pets, please be sure to schedule enough time to complete all pet care and home services requested. If additional pets require more time to care for, then there will be charges for the additional time needed to complete services.
Keys
If using key entry, I will need two (2) copies of your keys at the time of the initial consultation. I like to make sure the keys are in working order to avoid any issues. One key will be used for primary entry, and the additional key will be kept in a secure office location only to be used for emergency back-up. If I will be picking up mail that requires a key, I will need a copy of it as well. If you live in a gated community, you must provide gate passes or appropriate access codes required for entrance.
Reservations and Scheduling
It is preferred that reservations be made through text at 864-569-2557 or by email at SouthernTrailsPetSitting@gmail.com so that there is not only a record of the request, but also so that that your request has time stamp because reservations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. If I am not available to take your call or return your call right away, text or email will allow me to see the time of your request, schedule your services, and reply to confirm your reservation at a more appropriate time. In order to accommodate your request, it is preferred that you schedule your services as soon as possible since schedules fill up quickly, especially around holidays. Last minute reservations will be accepted only when scheduling permits. With the high demand for pet sitting services, late requests cannot be guaranteed.
Cancellations
It is preferred that you notify me as soon as you know you will no longer need service as other clients may be waiting to be added to the schedule. There is no fee for cancellation of reservations/services with a 24 hour notice given prior to service start time. However, if you cancel your pet's appointment on the day of service, or I arrive and the service is no longer needed, you will be charged the full amount for that visit. This is only because other clients may have been turned down for requests/services based on scheduling your appointment.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service and can be left at your home for pick-up. Cash or check is accepted. Late payments are charged an additional $5 per day for each day the payment is late after seven (7) days of last service date.
Why all the forms?!
I understand that there are a lot of forms to fill out, but this is my way of ensuring your pet's best possible care in any situation. The more information I have on routines and any special instructions that are critical to the care and safety of you pet, the more I can accommodate a successful, stress-free visit in your absence. I will bring all forms to the initial consultation for completion or, if you'd prefer to print and complete them ahead of time, you can find them here.
