As soon as the seeds arrived, i unpacked them , excised most of the seed (removed from pericarp) and soaked the seeds in cold water in the fridge (34-36 F) to leach out inhibitors.

After the cold water soak for 24 hours, i removed the seeds and spread them out on a moist paper towel and folded it, and put the towel in a ziplock bag. then i put the bag in the back of the fridge, since sugar maple seeds favor close to freezing temperatures (34-36 F) to sprout. i removed part of the testa of one seed and exposed he embryo inside.

After 3 days, i decided to check the sugar maple seeds. when i opened the paper towel, there was a surprise. One seed already sprouted! in just 3 days! thats absurd!, although it was the only one to do so. That really made my day :))
