The South Asian Student Union (SASU) San Diego was created to strive to bring people together in sharing the rich and diverse culture of South Asia, regardless of ethnicity or religion. Rather than being an educational club alone, SASU is a safe space for teens across all identities to enjoy the rich and fun parts of South Asian culture such as food, films, music, special dates, and more.

**Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, we aren't able to do many of the events we had originally planned to do in our clubs, such as in-person meetups and events. Throughout the pandemic, we planned monthly events through Zoom, such as movie nights, South Asian cuisine cooking nights, and online game days. We also have held food drives and fundraisers for charities, where all proceeds go towards supporting marginalized groups in India and beyond.
Our club currently has locations at Canyon Crest Academy, Del Norte, Westview, Mount Carmel, Scripps Ranch, and Torrey Pines. If you represent another school, feel free to reach out to us on Discord or Instagram so we can add your school to our list!

You do not need to attend these schools to join club events, as all are welcome! To begin meeting others as well as to get up to date on current events, join our Discord server linked below. For any paid events, a portion of the money will go to charity and foundations, and the remaining amount will be used to cover the cost of the event.
