I am excited for the Michigan Adventure Trip. The students are excited to perform at the theme park. I am emailing you to provide detailed information about the procedures and activities. For Friday, safety is our 1st priority. Please feel free to respond to this email if you have questions or concerns.

Report:
** Friday 6/5 @ 6:30 am at South Lake High School, Door 19, next to the tennis courts.**
The bus will promptly leave at 7 pm. Students are allowed to bring one small bag. A draw-string bag is preferred. Students should also conserve their phone's battery. A portable charger is optional. Attire is the band T-shirt and dark athletic shorts.
Departure:
Attendance is taken on the bus before all departures. Students will receive a light breakfast and water before departure. Clarinets/ Flutes/cymbal players will store instruments on the bus. All other instruments will be stored underneath the bus.
Arrival:
After our performance, students will be assigned to a chaperone group (5-7 students). The chaperones will have all the tickets and wristbands. Students will receive one park meal and dinner. Money in the park is optional. Students are to follow all instructions of their chaperones. No questions asked. If students are unable to follow the guidelines, they will lose privileges in the park. No student is to be alone in the park. We will use a buddy system for emergency restrooms. Students will have check-ins at their chaperone's discretion. Students must remember that they are representing South Lake Schools at all times. Conduct against school policies will result in the revocation of park privileges and/or administrative action.

Departure:
Our final check-in will be at 3:45 pm at the park entry. Students will depart the park at 4 pm. Dinner will be provided. Attendance is called on the bus before all departures. Students will be instructed to call home with ETAs on arrival at South Lake High School
Student Checkout
If you plan to check out your child at the event, please email me by Friday, 6/5, at 7 am.
Only the guardian/parent listed in PowerSchool is allowed to check out a student. If you plan to check out your child, please communicate the provisions needed to make so they can leave with you and not return to the school. A sign-out sheet will be available. All checkouts must come through the band director.
**Medication: **
Students who have medication need to turn this in to the band director with a parent-signed copy of the instructions.
Guest Parents
You are more than welcome to accompany the group your child is assigned to. However, if you plan to take your child from the chaperone, you must complete a formal sign-out and exit the park. You can pay admission at the entry gate or online.

**Emergencies **
In the event of an emergency, you will be contacted. In the event of a medical emergency, we will call 911. For non-medical emergencies, parents may contact me at (586) 298-1442.
**Patience **
Please be advised that my priority is the safety of all students. Schedules and times may be delayed because of this priority. I request your understanding and patience as I attend to students' needs. If I am not able to answer the phone, please text.

Michigan Adventure
We will depart to Michigan adventure on June 5, 2026. Report time is 6:30 am @SLHS
Students will have a full-band rehearsal on June 4, 2026, at SLMS during the school day. Parent chaperones are solidified. I will reach out to the chaperones with thier bus and group assignments. If you would like to drive, the cost is about $45 online and $65 at the gate. This can be paid to the theme park. https://www.sixflags.com/miadventure

Snacks/ Goods
We are requesting students to bring ONE item based on their grade. These items will be consumed by our band students at events throughout this year and next year. Please do not spend more than $5 for your child’s item.
6th grade: Fruit snacks, Nutigrain bars, cereal bars, poptarts, cereal.
7-8 grade: Case of water 24-48
9-12: Cookies, Chips, Cheezits
Graduation
6-11th-grade students will participate in the graduation ceremony on June 3, 2026.

Students will have a meal and transportation.
Students should wear the concert attire to school.
