Welcome to my world!
Welcome to my world!
I am a fifth-year PhD candidate at the Division of Biostatistics & Health Data Science, University of Minnesota School of Public Health, advised by Dr. Steffen Ventz. Before this, I completed the Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata in 2021 and 2019 respectively, during which I was supported by the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana fellowship (2016-2021).
I am primarily interested in prediction and inference techniques for Bayesian machine learning methods to incorporate them into innovative clinical trial designs. I am also interested in methods for computing posterior approximations and efficient sampling. Recently, I have started delving into non-parametric Bayesian methods. At the UMN Division of Biostatistics, I work with Dr. Steffen Ventz on finding subgroups exhibiting heterogeneous treatment effects of drugs in trials where the problem of the target data having a possibly smaller control population may be circumvented using external data sources.
Most recently, I was a PhD Biostatistician intern at Eli Lilly & Company with Lars Lau Raket, Tongrong Wang and Anna Eames Seffernick on analyzing patient-reported outcomes in Alzheimer's disease (AD). I also interned Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research with Anwesha Chaudhury, Andy Stein, and Bambang Adiwijaya on assessing the surrogacy of tumor size shrinkage on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Previously, I was a summer research intern at the Bioinspired Communication Systems Lab (now, Self-Organizing Systems Lab), Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany under Prof. Heinz Koeppl.
At UMN Biostats, I currently help organize the Advanced Bayesian (AdBAYES) and Posterior Consistency and Contraction (PCnC) working groups.
Besides research, I devote my hours to painting, listening to Indian classical music and scribbling poems and travelogues in my yellow journal. I am also a keen traveller and a photography enthusiast. You can find some of the photographs I clicked here and some more on my Instagram.
