Introduction

I am a third-year PhD student at the Division of Biostatistics, University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Before this, I completed the Master's and Bachelor's of Statistics degrees from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata in 2021 and 2019 respectively, during which I was supported by the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana fellowship (2016-2021).

At the UMN Division of Biostatistics, I am working on two projects in parallel- the first one is with Dr. Mark Fiecas on Imaging Genetics, wherein I am executing brain-wide association studies that are broadly inspired by the popular genome-wide association studies to find clinical association of disease phenotypes with fMRI data. The second one is with Dr. Steffen Ventz on finding heterogeneous treatment effects of drugs in a two-stage surgery trial where the problem of the target data having a possibly smaller control population may be circumvented using external sources.

From June to August 2023, I worked as a Biostatistician intern at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, Cambridge, MA with Anwesha Chaudhury, Andy Stein, and Bambang Adiwijaya on predicting survival outcomes for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) data using tumor size as a surrogate to speed up drug approval and reduce trial costs. Previously, I worked as a summer research intern at the Bioinspired Communication Systems Lab (now, Self-Organizing Systems Lab), Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany under Prof. Heinz Koeppl on modeling infection spread over disease networks, and an optimization problem of the information rate capacity.

Besides research, I devote my hours to painting, listening to classical music and scribbling poems and travelogues in my yellow journal. I am also a keen traveller and a photography enthusiast. You can find some of the photographs I clicked here and some more on my Instagram.
