Welcome to Sound Therapy Vegas! My name is James and have been practicing sound therapy since 2018. Like you, I love music. As a kid I learned music by taking violin and piano lessons. As an adult, my musical inclinations allowed me to travel as a DJ across the Southwest performing at some of the world’s best resorts.
A few years ago, I did a goggle search for the top sacred or spiritual places in Southern Nevada. While clicking on the various links, I discovered that a singing bowl performance was being held at a Las Vegas faith center. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the performance, but the idea of a singing bowl performance intrigued me. The seed was planted, and I began my musical and spiritual journey to becoming a sound therapist. After doing research on their history, ways to play them, their use in worship and meditation, I took an online course from the Berklee College of Music so I could understand how music affects our body, brain and spirit.
Various faiths around the world have incorporated singing bowl performances into worship and meditation. Like the sound of birds in the wilderness, the sound of a waterfall or the crash of ocean waves, the sound of the singing bowl can reach into your spirit and provide calming and peace. The ancient Greek philosopher Pythagoras made wonderful contributions to music theory and used his understanding to help those that were sick. As a sound therapist, my hope is that I bring you into a wonderful experience of meditation through the use of singing bowls, gongs and chimes.
