Hot stones are used for relaxation, for stress and pain relief, and to increase blood flow. The heat they produce affects deeper muscles with less need for deeper pressure. Hot stones are a good alternative for someone with a lot of knots and tightness who does not want heavy pressure.
Simply put, a trigger point (TRP) is a knot in a muscle that is near a nerve center. Proximity to a nerve center causes a referral zone, which is pain or tightness in another area of the body. For example, trigger points in the buttocks and hamstrings often refer pain to the lower back. TRPs can also cause muscle weakness and reduced range of motion in referral zones.
Deep tissue massage is a slow, smooth, and above all, deep massage to muscles and other soft tissue. DT is used to address a single area of concern at a time. If desired, the rest of the body can be addressed using other massage techniques in conjunction with DT.

Stretching muscles and moving joints are common, often self-administered pain relief methods. JMOB can warm up the body's tissues, promote relaxation during the session, and increase the effectiveness of massage. Incorporating movement opens up areas that could not be worked otherwise, such as beneath the shoulder blades.
The lymphatic system, also known as the body's garbage disposal, collects waste in the form of dead cells and toxins, then processes and disposes of that waste (aka lymph). When there is excess waste or a blockage in the flow of lymph, swelling occurs. MLD uses light, rhythmic strokes to open pathways just below the epidermis. MLD is often used to reduce swelling in clients post-surgery and post-acute injury.
Pregnant individuals are in need of more comfort, care, and relaxation than most. While the type of massage is up to the client, special care and cautions are taken to keep the parent and unborn child safe and comfortable. It takes a lot to have a baby. We want to give some back.
2 hour sessions are available upon request.
Some modalities may be combined.
