The Sotero Scholarship Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization founded with the mission of providing additional college scholarship opportunities for students graduating in the Perris Union High School District, Riverside County, California.

The Marjorie Sotero Scholarship is named in honor of Marjorie Sotero, a dedicated teacher and mentor who is in her fortieth year as an educator. She began teaching high school in 1996 at Paloma Valley High School and retired from Paloma in 2011, but did not retire from teaching. In August 2011 she continued teaching Home/Hospital and High School Diploma classes for Perris Union High School District and ESL (English as a Second Language) for a non-profit organization. Currently, she teaches a High School Diploma class and a GED class for the district, as well as an ESL class for Mount San Jacinto College. She also tutors for a private tutoring company. Teaching for Ms. Sotero is not simply a career, but a calling. She feels extremely blessed to still be able to teach and to learn from all her students.

Ms. Sotero has three married children and eleven grandchildren. She lives in Menifee, California, and is a member of Sun City Rotary and attends Revival Christian Fellowship Church. She loves to travel and spend time with her family. She believes in God first, then family and friends and is grateful for each and every day. She wishes to thank her "Lunch Bunch" of Paloma for organizing and creating this scholarship in her name.

The Sotero Scholarship Foundation was established in 2017 by a group of current and former residents of Riverside County, all of whom have been touched by the generosity and compassion of Marjorie Sotero and were moved to give back to the community that she has spent much of her life serving.
