The Sudanese Optometry Portal (SOP) is a professional body which represents optometrists across all forms of practice modalities in both the private and public sectors. In essence the main objective of the SOP is to increase the public awareness about the optometry education, eye health problems and promotion of optometric practices and sciences in Sudan.

Mission

The mission of the SOP to help in promoting optometric profession by continuous   education to the highest level of proficiency and preparing optometry researchers to provide improved eye health care locally and internationally and to raise the community’s awareness about the eye health.

Objectives

• To provide Sudanese optometrists with a privileged ability, experiences and continuous   education to perform their career role.

• To create good environment to link the traditional optometric education with the modern and encourage intellectual creation and support optometric professional development.

• To serve the community via privileged eye care and elevated level of awareness.

• To encourage the ethical behaviour and strengthen the brotherhood relations between the colleagues.
