Daisy Cabot

Daisy graduated summa cum laude from Sonoma State University in December 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in history.  They plan to attend graduate school in the fall of 2024 for a master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences, with the hope of working in a field relating to archiving.

Felicia Quijano-Beck

Felicia is a senior studying history and English literature at Sonoma State University. After she graduates, she plans to attend UCLA Law School with a focus on intellectual property law in the field of entertainment. In her spare time, Felicia enjoys creative writing, traveling, and overanalyzing Shakespeare.

Dane Beatie

Dane is a first-year master’s in arts in history student at Sonoma State. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a B.A. in history and classics with high honors in June 2022.

Bryan Dinno

Bryan is a fourth-year history major at Sonoma State University. He transferred from Santa Rosa Junior College in 2022 after receiving an associate degree in both art history and history. Bryan is an artist, an automotive enthusiast, and has been a fan of history since childhood.

Kyle Torr

Kyle is a graduating history major at Sonoma State in Spring 2023. He is attending San Jose State University in their Master of Library and Information Science program beginning in the fall of 2023. Outside of class, he enjoys walking his dog, Clancy, perusing antique stores for insanely patterned shirts, and organizing his albums by color and his sweaters by the appropriate time of day for wearing. He is a rabid mall historian and will talk your ear off about the history of benches.

Christian Valente

Christian was born and raised in Sonoma County and graduated from the history program at Sonoma State in December 2022.  His passions are steadily placed on the modern history of international conflict and open-source military intelligence, where he hopes to gain a more comprehensive understanding of how the global community operates in its darkest atmosphere.

Thomas Bouwer

Thomas Wolfgang Bouwer is a master’s student studying American history and is the past treasurer of the History Society. His primary interests include the AIDS crisis, American fascism, and newspaper coverage.

Kevin Kosmatka

Kevin recently received his B.A. in history from Sonoma State University. While his thesis entitled “Memory of the Great Irish Famine” is his largest and most meaningful work to date, he hopes to write greater works in the years to come. Kevin plans to pursue graduate study in the future. He currently spends much of his time as an autodidactic researcher in Sonoma County.

Nichole Sarra

Nichole is a fourth-year student majoring in history and minoring in anthropology at Sonoma State and will be graduating magna cum laude with distinction in Spring 2023. She was recruited to pitch for the SSU softball team, where she has helped the team reach new levels of success. During her time at Sonoma State, she fell in love with the history of a small island in the Mediterranean called Malta and will be continuing her research on that country while pursuing her master’s degree at Sonoma State.

Grant Cubberly

Grant is a graduating senior and will continue his studies in the history graduate program at Sonoma State this fall. He intends to pursue a career in academia and research with a particular interest in California history and the colonial development of the region. In his free time, Grant collects LEGO, hikes, and reads.

Jared L. Height

Jared graduated with distinction from Sonoma State University in the spring of 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in history and a certificate in public history. He will start a graduate program in the fall to study public history and museum studies. He is the past president of the History Society, a member of the Dean's Student Advisory Council, and a lifetime member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity as well as the Alpha Gamma Sigma and Phi Theta Kappa honor societies. Jared returned to college after a successful twenty-year career in marketing.
