SonicSwarm ("the app") is developed by Shashwat Patel. This policy explains what data the app does and does not collect.
What we collect
Nothing. SonicSwarm does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us or any server we operate. There are no user accounts, no sign-up, and no analytics or tracking of any kind built into the app.
How the app works
SonicSwarm synchronizes audio playback between nearby devices using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework over your local Wi-Fi network. All communication — device discovery, clock synchronization, and audio file transfer — happens directly between your devices on your local network. Nothing passes through any server we control.
Permissions the app requests
Local Network access: required to discover and connect to nearby devices for playback sync. Used only for this purpose.
Media Library / Files access: used only to let you pick an audio file to play — files you select stay on your own devices and are transferred directly to other devices in your swarm, never to us.
Third-party services
If you choose to use the optional Spotify feature, you'll be authenticated directly by Spotify through their own official login (Spotify's SDK). We do not receive, see, or store your Spotify credentials, listening history, or account data — that authentication and any data handling is governed entirely by Spotify's own Privacy Policy. This feature is entirely optional; the app's core functionality works without it.
Data sharing
We do not sell, share, or otherwise disclose any user data, because we do not collect any.
Children's privacy
SonicSwarm does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised "last updated" date.
