The first edition of Songhatid is being held in the capital and largest city of Iceland; Reykjavik. The city was chosen as it gives voters a glimpse of Icelandic culture, while letting them know the Icelandic way of life in the capital. Famous for its views of the Northern Lights, otherwise known as the Aurora Borealis, Icelanders hope the Icelandic attractions will give people the urge to vote in the first edition of Songhatid.
8 Jurors cast their 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 and 0 points. The song with the lowest score is eliminated.
334 points, the equivalent of the Jury Vote, are to be given out based on percentages. The 2 songs with the lowest score overall are eliminated.
The Icelandic delegation awards 50, 40, 30, 20, and 10 points based on a number of criteria. The song with the highest overall score is the winner.
