About Phonak's EON Audeo hearing aids.

Phonak's latest release, the Audeo Eon in August (US) /September (UK) 2026 in the UK is powered by their new HYPERSONIC™ AI chip. It combines next-generation AI, advanced speech processing and industry-leading Bluetooth connectivity (finally with AURACAST) to help deliver more confident conversations.

Phonak EON has up to 38 hours of battery life if not streaming and it's successful Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0 (This is the AI feature that truly pulls out speech from background noise). It also has AutoSense OS™ AI 8.0 (The environment classifier switching between different environments it senses you are in and automatically processing the sound to give you the best clarity) as well as WindBlock 2.0 (As the name states, it reduces wind noise!)

Different technology levels for Audeo Sphere in 90 70 and 50

Phonak EON is 25% smaller and 20% lighter than it's predecessor Infinio

Two versions of Phonak EON exist

1.) Audeo E-Sphere

This sphere version has the Hypersonic AI chip. NO CROS features. 3 technology levels are available - 90/ 70/ 50.

Level 50 requires manual activation of AI component (which could save battery! but adds the mental load of remembering to activate it when it is needed). If the aids are constantly in Spheric speech mode, then you will get 11-12hrs of battery life from the hearing aids

2.) Audeo Non-Sphere version.

This version has no Hypersonic AI chip. It has a CROS version (hurrah!).

Appearance

The Audeo sphere is smaller than its older Infinio predecessor. Standard colours are available, but Sedona Red (lovely coppery red) has been added

Fitting range

The EON hearing aids still have a wide fitting range to cover mild to severe ranges of hearing loss. SNR refers to the amount of separation for speech from noise. The greater the number, the greater the separation, and vice versa.

Hypersonic AI chip delivers 10.2 dB SNR. This reduces as you drop down technology levels.

Battery life

The Audeo EON is only available in a rechargeable form. 38hr non streaming, 22-24hr with streaming, 11-12hrs if constantly in sphere. 20hrs for CROS devices. Battery charger is included as standard. The charger itself can come with or without power bank options.

Connectivity - Bluetooth Classic, AURACAST, Roger

Finally! Auracast is available inside EON and EON sphere aids. Auracast is still not in older tech (despite claims made previously that older models will be accommodated; we are still waiting!). Phonak Audeo works well with Android and Made for Apple iphones. They appear to work more smoothly with Samsung Android phones, as the sound quality, distance coverage and stability appears better.

Auracast is Bluetooth audio broadcast for public places, e.g., churches, museums, bars, public transport, cinema. Note that connectivity with Auracast and some iphones may require a QR code to connect. Whereas with Android iphones one can access Auracast simply using a drop-down list; no QR code is required.

Windblock 2.0

This feature reduces wind noise by up to an impressive 50dB; it does this by turning off front mics typically exposed to noise, or focusing on where it senses speech is coming from - should speech be present. So with trail-running, driving with the windows down, gardening outside or just walking outside against the elements. This particular feature could be very helpful.
