By academic research training, I have expertise in the field of 'Environment and Society'. The nature and scope of human-nature interaction always attract me for field visits to explore scholarly knowledge hidden within the ground reality. I believe that natural resource conservation, natural resource based livelihood generation, and commons overt participation in this context are the integral part of sustainable development goal. For research contribution, apart from receiving the ‘Glory of India Award’, I have recently got the Copy Right Certificate for my research contribution in 'Designing Purified Drinking Water Distribution at Nominal Cost'.
Before joining the IIT Kharagpur, I have worked as Research Assistant, Assistant Professor and Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham, CSSS Calcutta, IDF, Renmin University of China respectively. I have also visited many other academic/ research institutes including IIM Calcutta as a visiting fellow. I am a regular member of the National Level Monitoring (NLM) Programme conducted by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
I am interested to include new PhD and Post-Doctoral research scholars in my research group who will be interested in empirical research projects, which will have enormous socio-environmental impact and can be scaled up from regional to the global level.
